This summer I am going to be a strong advocate for a cappuccino at home. You see, in many of the major cities across the United States, there is going to be a major coffee festival. These festivals are also known as the Cappuccino and they have been going on for quite some time now.
Of course, the fact that there are going to be millions of people attending these events means that the first question is always “What kind of coffee should I drink?” Unfortunately, what many people do not realize is that the same kinds of flavors that I enjoy drinking as well as many others do not taste great when made in the traditional way.
Traditional Coffee Making: Cappuccino At Home
In fact, many people will find that the traditional way of making coffee will taste even worse when served at these events. This may be the most exciting thing that has happened to coffee in my opinion.
Instead of the usual, you are going to be able to enjoy your regular cappuccino but also enjoy it in a way that is going to be vastly different than what we all have grown accustomed to from having to make it ourselves. As I said before, the world of coffee is evolving and everyone can find something new and interesting to try.
What Is Cappucino?
For those who are not familiar with this type of event, let me explain what a Cappuccino is. In short, it is the fusion of espresso and crema which are traditionally a fresh frothed shot of coffee using the crema which is a thick layer of foam that often forms on top of the espresso shot.
The crema makes the coffee much less bitter as well as the espresso allows for the flavors to shine through as well. When you put all of this together, it gives you the best of both worlds.
Now you may be wondering if this is something that you can serve at home, the answer is a resounding yes. The good news is that you can have a great tasting Cappuccino at home. You will need to add some milk and some cream to the drink and use the technique that is known as an espresso shot.
Tips For Making It The Right Way
The great thing about the technique is that you are creating a shot of coffee. That tastes almost like a cappuccino but when made correctly. You will be able to get that latte flavor as well. For those of you who are not familiar with the term. It is nothing more than heating coffee up to about two hundred degrees Fahrenheit and then using a pressure technique called espresso shot to make the cappuccino.
You will need to prepare the ground coffee and the crema. But for the best results, you will want to buy high-quality Italian coffee. The reason why you want to use a high-quality espresso is that you want to be able to create the best-tasting coffee. That is going to be able to stand up to the pressure of being heated.
In addition to the espresso. You will want to add about two teaspoons of cream. Then follow this with a cold brew. Since the cold brew is typically not used during the preparation. You may want to use milk or even a sugar mixture which gives the perfect consistency for the drink.
Final Verdict: Cappuccino At Home
If you prefer to drink the drink in a cup, just pour a small amount of water and place some ice in the bottom. If you would like to pour the drink into an espresso cup, this is also possible. But you may want to keep it topped off with a little bit of water. So that the foam does not cover the entire surface of the cup.
The great thing about having this type of drink at your house is that you can drink the Cappuccino. With just about anything and it will taste great. The only thing that is important is that you keep an eye on the level of pressure. So that the flavor of the drink will not be overpowered by the strong crema.
